5 PLACES TO INDULGE THIS PANCAKE DAY

Shrove Tuesday is just around the corner, which can only mean one thing – pancakes (and lots of ‘em)! While you probably don’t need another reason to tuck into this family favourite, you will need to know where to find the best ones in town.

To celebrate this delicious day, we have stacked the options and found the best places that are sure to satisfy your taste buds. Whether you are hunting healthy options, searching for savoury spots or just craving crepes – we’ve got your covered (trust us, your tummies will thank us later).
Bon Appetite!

1. Where the Pancakes Are

Well, the name says it all really. Nestled in Southwark Flat Iron Square, these guys are notorious for their sweet and savoury buttermilk selection and, they do not disappoint. But, if you are after something a little more ‘Insta-worthy’, then an order of the  ‘Dutch Babies’ is a must. An oven baked pancake served in a black tray, topped with blueberries, almond flakes and icing…need we say more? #noms

2. Granger and Co

Aussies are great at many things, but we happen to think that breakfast is definitely their forte. So when Granger and Co opened, it was no surprise that people kept coming back for more. There was however one thing stood out on their menu and, for good reason too. Cue the Ricotta Pancakes (seriously, the best we’ve had yet)!  Made with love, these light, fluffy bursts of goodness are a sweet treat worth queuing for.

3. Christopher's

Okay, if you’re someone who just can’t make up your mind when it comes to the menu, then Christopher’s is the place for you. Conveniently located in Covent Garden, this cosy gem allows customers to build their own pancakes. Pick your base; add the toppings and you’ve got yourself bespoke buttermilk (or buckwheat) cakes. Oh, and if sweet isn’t what you’re after – no problem. They also have an assortment of savoury stacks too!

4. L’ETO

Want to indulge, but don’t want to really worry about the waistline? L’ETO is your go-to. With gluten-free and nut-free options available you will have no trouble making the right pick. We’re a sucker for the Buckwheat and Berry pancakes – did we mention that they’re topped with agave syrup and coconut yoghurt? Delicious. But, don’t take our word for it though, we’ll let you decide.

5. Kensington Crêperie

Last on our list is the crème de la crêpe, Kensington Crêperie. Known as one of London’s finest French crêperies, this place knows exactly how to cure those cravings. While the café may be small, it has a huge offering. With an array of made-to-order sweet and savoury combinations, paired with a house cider or a classic coffee – we know this one place you’ll be coming back to for more!
