How to wear boho in the cold

2024 has ushered in a new era of boho dressing. No longer just a Sienna Miller-does-Glastonbury-special, this year we’re wearing boho off the festival circuit: to work, weddings and walks in the wilderness (your local park) - whatever the weather. Right now, it’s cold but boho still has a place in your wardrobe. Style it under your winter coat now and solo when summer comes.

First up, layers - obviously. A no-brainer in chilly temps but a trick that is hard to pull off while still keeping your outfit boho. The solution? Focus on the crafty details of the boho trend, specifically embroidery, applique and key fabrics like faux leather and suede rather than the trend’s silhouettes. Stick to jeans to keep warm and throw on the ‘70s version of a “cute top” - a white peasant blouse with broderie anglaise for your very own Joni Mitchell moment.

Bookmark this outfit for festival season and just add tights so you can wear it out and about now as well. The fluffy gilet is a boho classic and ours is fully faux so it’s even better. A great dramatic layer to add to your wardrobe when the weather is still crisp. Layer over a patchwork print, long sleeve mini dress and suede cowboy boots for a finished outfit that's almost as fabulous as you.

When we think “boho”, we think about the seventies and when we think about the seventies, only one colour comes to mind: tan. This rich caramel leather jacket with bronze hardware is one of those pieces so beautiful, sometimes you just sit and stare at it. Do it justice with a bohemian maxi skirt and a lightweight knit to take this look through the in-between seasons. Wear a simple tank underneath so when the weather finally starts to play ball you can whip the jumper off to soak up the sun.
