Reporting a Scam

Be Aware of Scams

Have you seen a website, social media account, email or similar using the River Island logo and images to pretend to be River Island? Or are you concerned you may be the potential victim of a scam?

Here are a few tips to help you know when you’re shopping with the real River Island:

  • Check that the web address shown in your browser is for the legitimate River Island website. Depending on where you are shopping, this will be one of the following:

    riverisland.com

    riverisland.com/us or

    riverisland.com/ie
  • If you have been contacted over email, check the sender’s email address carefully to make sure it matches the genuine River Island accounts. We will only ever email you from addresses ending: @river-island.com @service.riverisland.com or @mailer.riverisland.com

If you are unsure, contact our customer services team who can confirm whether the email came from us.
  • When browsing social media, check to see whether the account you are looking at has been verified, and how many followers the account has. Our Instagram and Facebook accounts are verified by a check mark to show they are authentic, and false accounts may often have a very low number of followers.

We will never contact you via social media to ask for payment or personal information

If you have noticed any activity that may be a scam, or if you spot social media accounts, emails or websites falsely claiming to be River Island, please contact our customer services team to report it. Please include the email addresses or URLs connected to any websites reported.

If you are concerned that you have been the victim of a scam, you may wish to report it to relevant authorities. You may also need to contact your bank, and secure email or social media accounts.
