The Best Dressed Guests At The Royal Wedding

The Best Dressed Guests At The Royal Wedding

Whether you wrapped yourself in the Union Jack, scone in hand, at a street party or you tried to hide from it all, the Royal Wedding was all anyone could talk about last weekend. Here’s a quick recap if you somehow missed it; Meghan looked like a real-life Disney princess, Harry looked at her the way we look at our bed after a long week (now that’s true love) and our colourful Queen was dressed like a very chic highlighter.

Of course we were in awe over Meghan’s dress, but our heads were turned by a few of the guests. Are you in need of some summer occasionwear inspiration? Here are the best dressed guests and the trends they brought as their +1…

Green

If there was one colour to be seen it, it was green. The Queen went for an almost fluorescent hue, the Mother of the Bride chose a softer, pastel shade and Caroline Greenwood went bright with it. Choose green for your next fancy affair and you’ll be the envy of everyone. If it’s fit for a Queen…

Florals

Summer wedding = florals, right? Pippa Middleton, Lady Kitty Spencer (in THAT Dolce & Gabbana dress) and Carey Mulligan all sported blooms, from the delicate to the more bold. Some might try to catch the bouquet, we say dress like it!

Yellow

Amal Clooney in sunshine yellow is a trend in itself. Although we didn’t spot that many sporting the bright colour, she wins the crown for the best dressed guest in our humble opinion. If you want to make an entrance like Amal at your next occasion, choose yellow. Trust us.

The Suits

If you’re not up for wearing a military uniform to any special events you have coming up, we suggest you take inspiration from Harry’s post-wedding ceremony suit. A classic tux, complete with a bow tie, will always be a winner. Or, make everyone swoon a la Mr Beckham in a suit complete with a contrast double-breasted waistcoat and pocket watch (and your best shades).
