Happy Halloween! The spooktivites look a little different this year but we’re obviously still dressing up – it’s what we do best! Looking for last minute costume inspo for your at-home spooky celebrations? Take a trip down memory lane with us and get inspired by the most iconic Halloween costumes of all time. Take it away halloqueens …
No iconic Halloween costume round up is complete without the original Halloqueen herself, Heidi Klum. The supermodel’s legendary Halloween parties have served up serious looks since 2000. Our faves are the human body (2011), Jessica Rabbit (2015), Shek and Fiona (2018) and … actually we’re obsessed with them all, who are we kidding?!
Flying the union jack stateside, Chrissy Tiegen and John Legend paid tribute to the Queen and Prince Philip in 2018 and as Brits, we were obsessed. The couple admitted they were too tired to go out so their Halloween turned into a royal evening in. 2020 take note …
Lupita Nyong’o channelling Dione from Clueless had us totally buggin! We’ve always secretly thought that Cher’s sidekick was the true star of the show and in 2018 Lupita confirmed it. Neither a fashion victim or assembly challenged, she served up an ultimate ‘90s cult classic.
Proving life in plastic is fantastic, Queen Bey and her husband Jay-Z, slayed the Halloween game in 2016 as vintage black Barbie and Ken. Couples take note! This look raised the bar and set the standard to compete with.
They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’s couples costume is another of our faves. Their gothic transformation into OG spooky couple, Morticia and Gomez Adams, was uncanny and came complete with prosthetic hand to represent the character Thing. Genius!
Kim K is the definition of extra so we weren’t surprised by her OTT Halloween transformation into Legally blonde’s Elle Woods in 2019. Not only was the resemblance on point but the reality star went above and beyond recording her own Harvard entrance tape made iconic in the movie. What, like it’s hard?!
If any costume was the total opposite of Kim K’s it’s this. Lady Gaga’s ghost of 2014 is definitely the easiest to recreate, simply grab a sheet and cut out some eye holes – voila! We suspect Gaga was over extravagant outfits by this point and knew that only she, the Queen of transformation, could make a statement by making no statement at all.
